This is a post about Rumiko Takahashi's personal collection of Inuyasha figurines where we can see that she placed Sesshomaru and Kagura next to each other. And here I wanted to show you a detailed analysis showing you how the figurines are absolutely NOT placed randomly. We see that Inuyasha is always placed either next to Kagome, or next to Kikyo, and Shippo is always placed near InuKag. Miroku and Sango are always placed close together and Sesshomaru is placed either next to Kagura or next to Rin. 👀

And here we can see Sesshomaru and Kagura figurines. We can see the detail that these 2 are the ONLY 2 figurines from which Rumiko removed the weapons! Here we can also see chibi InuKag with Shippo.

We can see how the figurines are all placed in a precise sense. InuKik, MirSan, SessKagu and chibi InuKag.

And where is the sword that Rumiko Takahashi removed from Sesshomaru's hand when he's next to Kagura? Here it is!!! 👀

This series of figurines is also completely positioned in a precise sense. In front we can see chibi InuKag with Shippo and MirSan, next Bankotsu and Jakotsu. In the row behind InuKag are fighting Naraku and next InuKik.

Another set of figurines placed completely with a sense. Chibi InuKag, Inuyasha with Shippo, Sesshomaru with Rin and InuKag with InuKik. I can't see if the figurine next to Sango is Miroku but it's very likely that it is.

Another set of figurines placed completely with a sense. We can see InuKag, MirSan, again 2 pairs of figurines of InuKag and MirSan.

The row of chibi figurines above is the only one positioned somewhat randomly. But below we can see MirSan and InuKik again.

*Someone* (you know who...) tried to justify this by saying that Sesshomaru and Kagura are fighting... it wouldn't even make sense because the 2 of them never fought! But this justification is even more absurd considering that these 2 figurines are the only ones whose weapons Rumiko Takahashi removed from their hands! And this is an extremely significant detail, it means that she absolutely doesn't see them as enemies but they are together because she sees a connection between the 2 of them. A romantic connection? Not necessarily because she also placed Bankotsu and Jakotsu next to each other but, as a SessKagu shipper, further reinforces in me the belief that SessKagu is the ship with Sesshomaru that makes the most sense. Of course, she also placed Sesshomaru next to a figurine of child Rin... but it's interesting to see how she placed them, he holds the sword in front of her as a gesture of protection. So, at least here, they seem to be paired because Sesshomaru is Rin's protector.

Where did you get the idea for itty bitty bat (and the minimonsters in general)? They remind me of the bad guys in power rangers and when patamon got dedigivoled in digimon adventures and want to know if who's right in this bet.

I just remember the running trend of little chibi monster creatures in anime I watched growing up, like Inuyasha with Shippo, Dinosaur King when the main protag's dinos aren't in battle.

So the closest to right guess would be Digimon since I watched and remembered more of that than Power Rangers as a kid.

Chibis that turn into big monsters is always a good trope

Time to post my favorites from Smile Fest 2024 Tokyo.

I almost definitely will be buying the above figures. If I have to cut down, to save my budget, I'd just buy the human-Inuyasha with Shippo, just to finish my protagonist team. But I already have the original Maomao Nendoroid, and all the Kirby Nendoroids so far, except for the 30th anniversary Kirby. Technically, these are all redundant Nendoroids, since I also already have regular Nendoroid Inuyasha. But I just took advantage of a recent GoodSmile sale to actually get the full Inuyasha protagonist team---except for Shippo. This is the first Nendoroid-scaled Shippo. As a completionist, the bare minimum of what I must buy from these Smile Fest 2024 announcements, is the New Moon version Inuyasha with Shippo.

Interests / might buy:

I really shouldn't be spending money on these, but they are kind of tempting. I love interesting creature design, shocking-creature female characters, I like Dungeon Meshi, and I love the Awakened Beings' creature designs from Claymore, which chimera-Falen reminds me of. So she's kind of tempting. But she's also a Pop UP Parade, while I prefer articulated figures. Plus, she's a Pop Up Parade XL, so she's going to be unnecessarily large and more expensive, vs what I would need. I would be fine with a regular version Pop Up Parade, and I would have preferred the lower price! But maybe either way, she takes more detail to produce, so they need the larger size to justify the higher price?

I really want the Drawing Doll. And I hope they make a male version for me to possibly buy too. But honestly, this looks like it's going to be really expensive. And I already have so many Figma Archetypes, Figma Swimsuits, and S.H.Figuarts Body drawing models. I really shouldn't spend more on drawing models…even if this new Nishimura Drawing Doll looks like it has more realistic joint flexibility for more realistic poses. I also really wanted the Figma Human Anatomical Model, but at the time of its preorders, it was like $70?---But now I'm looking at the GSC International Shop and it's Available Now for around $50, thanks to the yen to US dollar exchange favoring the dollar more in recent years. Hm…Wonder if I should get it?… But I need to save money. I shouldn't be buying more drawing model figures. I need to save my money for figures of characters that I already have emotional attachments to.

I love the Good Smile original characters. I wish they were sold as Nendoroids. I'd even love for them to be sold as just their heads, so I could put them onto Nendoroid More Dress Up bodies. So these new Tanuki Miko and Fox Kannushi are really cute. They've got kemonomimi, wafuku (which I love), and I love the allusions to yokai, (which I also love). But Nendoroid Dolls tend to be more expensive, like $80 sometimes, and I really should be saving my money for characters I already have emotional attachments to.

Belldandy is such a shocking nostalgic surprise. She's beautiful, and I've watched some Oh My Goddess and some of the chibi spinoff. But I was never obsessed with Ah Megami-sama. So I really shouldn't spend the money on her.

I told myself that I wouldn't buy anymore Touken Ranbu Nendoroids, unless they were Dategumi. Well, Tsuru-san is a Dategumi toudan and is getting a Nendoiroid Doll. But Nendoroid Dolls tend to be more expensive. I already spent money on Tsuru-san's original Nendoroid, butai version Nendoroid, and Nendoroid Swacchao. That should be good enough. I need to save money.

I like Len and Rin, but I don't know why these "Evil" versions of the aren't that interesting to me. I love semi-formalwear. And they're in extravagant formalwear, so that should be even better. But I don't know. When I compare these to my Harvest Moon versions Len and Rin that I already have, they're just not as tempting. The Harvest Moon Len and Rin have translucent parts, flowing fabrics, and softer colors. When I also compare these Evil versions to the Len and Rin Append Nendoroids that I also have, there just isn't as much interesting color shifting going on in their eyes and hair, versus the Append versions. So I think I should really save my money.
